Earl "Chico" Porter III has spent his career leading people through hard terrain — literally and figuratively. As an Army Infantry Officer, he led combat teams through Iraq and Afghanistan. As an attorney, he now guides investors and businesses through complex commercial and tax disputes.

Through Something Outta Nothing, he walked the Appalachian Trail in winter to fight for veteran mental health. Today, Chico brings that same discipline to helping executives and leaders go the distance — in their careers, their teams, and their lives.

03 — Something Outta Nothing

2,193 miles.
One winter.

In 2021–2022, on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Chico completed a southbound winter thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail to raise resources and awareness for veteran mental health and families affected by veteran suicide.

It was the founding act behind Something Outta Nothing.
